My Story

I grew up in sports.

Gymnastics, ballet, basketball, skiing, volleyball, swimming...I loved them all. But it was figure skating that stole my heart.

The funny thing is, I didn't even start skating until I was 11 years old. An age most people in the skating world would tell you is far too late.

I wasn't on track for the Olympics, and I wasn't expected to become an elite athlete.

But when I stepped onto the ice, I felt like I belonged.

By the time I was in high school, skating had become my world. I trained every lunch hour, every evening after school, and worked with three private coaches. I loved the process of getting stronger, jumping higher, and discovering what I was capable of. Practice wasn't work, it was where I came alive.

Then competition day would arrive.

Suddenly, I wasn't the same skater.

My body would tighten. My hands would shake. My thoughts raced. Everything that felt natural in practice disappeared the moment people were watching.

I tried to push through it. I told myself to calm down. To be more confident. To stop overthinking.

None of it worked.

What surprised me most was that the feeling didn't disappear when I left the rink.

Years later, in university, I felt it again every time I had to speak in class.

Then it showed up in my corporate career when I presented ideas in meetings, stepped onto a stage, or found myself in high-pressure conversations.

Different room.

Different audience.

The exact same feeling.

That's when I realized something important.

This wasn't about skating.

It wasn't about public speaking.

It wasn't about confidence.

It was about understanding what was happening inside me.

That realization changed everything.

I became fascinated by the connection between our thoughts, emotions, nervous system, and the way we show up in the moments that matter most. I immersed myself in emotional intelligence, change management, coaching, leadership development, and human behaviour. I became a certified Life and Wellness Coach and spent more than two decades leading learning, leadership, and organizational development initiatives across North America.

What I discovered is that the greatest barrier to growth is rarely capability.

It's disconnection.

Disconnection from ourselves.

From one another.

From what matters most.

That's why I created The Leadership Cabin.

It's a place where individuals, leaders, and teams can reconnect before they move forward. A place to have the conversations we often avoid, strengthen trust, navigate change together, and celebrate the progress that's too often overlooked.

Every experience we create is built around three simple ideas.

Root

Define What Matters

Discover what matters most to each individual, create a shared vision of success, and align around what matters now—for yourself and for your team.

Navigate

Meet the Moment

Change, growth, and transition can feel messy. Together, we'll build trust, communicate with curiosity, and develop the confidence to move through uncertainty—together.

Rise

Celebrate the Climb

Pause to recognize how far you've come. Celebrate achievements, honour the challenges you've overcome, and create a culture where people lift one another up because they know they didn't get there alone.

Because leadership isn't about having all the answers.
